On a gray day in December, Nancy (one half of our wedding photography duo) came over to take maternity photos. I felt tired, excited, in control and in love with my pregnant body.
A few weeks later, on a sunny February morning, she returned to photograph our little man in his tiny, wrinkly, newborn goodness. I felt TIRED, proud, anxious, overwhelmed, emotional and completely in love with my baby.
For me, pregnancy was the easy part. I loved just about every minute of it. Being a mother to a newborn is hard. Sometimes I find myself looking forward to the days when he smiles back at us, we get better sleep and I can leave the house more. Looking at these pictures reminds me to relax, slow down and savor these early weeks. Because his skin will never be softer, his hands will never be tinier and his little milky mouth will never be sweeter than they are right now.

He is one ADORABLE babes! You made pregnancy look easy, and beautiful!
I love the shot of you in profile against the window. Gorgeous!
Beautiful pictures! I felt the other way about being pregnant - it was something to get through to have the baby and I found it mostly difficult. Having a newborn has been easier in some ways, believe it or not. I think these things go through phases, you are probably about due for a change to an easy one.
Terese! You look beautiful as does your sweet boy. What lovely photographs to have when someday you are looking back on this time. That time where smiles are coming back to you and you get more sleep will be here before you know it.
What a beautiful post! You're so lovely and so is your son.
