For a short while during the early stages of nursery brainstorming, I attempted to talk myself into a modern crib. Something simple and sleek. Clean lines. Oval perhaps? Or maybe acrylic?! But try as I may, my mind kept going to back to my clear favorite that I discovered while helping create my nephew Liam's nursery last year...
...the sweet and vintage-looking Jenny Lind style:
Then it was just a matter of choosing a color. Oh, the options! White, ebony, cherry, espresso? Painted gray or gold?
I eventually decided on the dark brown espresso finish.
And then last night Ed and I reached that great soon-to-be-parenting milestone: we assembled our baby's crib. At one point I glanced at our reflections in the window - Ed on his hands and knees securing nuts and bolts and me holding two pieces together while trying to keep my (rapidly expanding) belly from knocking it all apart - and thought, "Well would you look at us? We look like a mom and dad."
Of course it didn't take long for Ed to mass text this photo along with "Crib assembled, call me Bob Villa!"

We put our crib together last night too! Also a Jenny Lind, but white. I can't wait to see the rest of what you have planned!
I can't wait to see the finished room. Your nephew's was so cute!
Weve ordered our cot but arent getting it delivered until Dec 10th so weve not tried the assembling yet although I cant wait to do so.
We went with a modern looking white & grey one but I do like this one too. It must have been so good to do your nephews nursery to get an idea of everything you might want; there are so so many options!!!
I always thought I would want a modern one, but I TOTALLY GET IT--having something so sweet and traditional for your little loved one. Great pick.
