The Final Countdown - Wednesday, June 16

This week I'll take you back in time to the days leading up to the wedding. They were filled with family, friends and final to-dos...

My parents arrived on Wednesday morning and we immediately set out to complete a very daunting wedding task: packaging the 400+ buckeyes that would be used as combination favors/placecards for each guest. Thankfully my mom and The Hens had taken a huge weight off my shoulders and made these yummy peanut butter and chocolate balls back in Ohio. All we had to do was put them in cello bags, tie them up with twine and attach a tag.

My dad, MacGyvering some shelves in the coolers to hold all the finished favors.

That in itself took almost 6 hours. I can't believe I actually thought about making and packaging them all myself. I would have been a crazy person.

(Professional photos of the finished product coming soon!)

Once this HUGE to-do was crossed off my list, we all headed to D4 to meet Ed's mom and siblings and Cousin Kristin for dinner and drinks.

Words of advice?

Plan ahead so that you have everything finished by the time family and friends start coming around for the wedding. Even if it means putting programs together while boating on Memorial Day weekend. (True story.) I was so happy to be able to relax and hang out at dinner without having a million unfinished things running through my head.

Coming tomorrow: peonies, OOT guest bags and my one bridezilla moment.
